Connect Your Account
Connecting links your WordPress site to your wpmailtester.com account with a single API key. It's optional for testing — and required for alerts and monitoring.
What connecting unlocks

|---|---|---|---|
| One-click tests | ✓ (5/day) | ✓ | ✓ |
| Test history in your dashboard | — | ✓ | ✓ |
| Failure events recorded | — | ✓ | ✓ |

Step 1 — Get your API key
- Create a free account (or log in)
- Go to Account → Profile → the Plugin API Key panel
- Click Generate API Key and copy it — it starts with
wmt_and is shown in full only once
Treat the key like a password — anyone who has it can link sites to your plan. If it leaks, click Regenerate Key; the old key stops working immediately (you'll need to re-connect your sites with the new one).
Step 2 — Paste it into the plugin
- On your WordPress site: Tools → WP Mail Tester → Account Connection
- Paste the key and click Connect
- The card shows your account email and plan — done
One key works for all your sites (up to your plan's site limit). Each connected site appears under Account → Profile → Connected sites and on your dashboard, where you can also unlink sites you no longer manage.
Disconnecting
Either from the plugin (Disconnect button) or from your account page (Unlink next to the site). The site keeps its free 5 tests/day; alerts and monitoring for it stop.
